- Bartow County deputies are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday night, Jun. 21, on Pine Ridge Drive NW in Cartersville. Deputies found 47-year-old Michael Douglas Gravely suffering from a gunshot wound in the lower back and lying on the ground between two outside buildings. Gravely later died from his injuries in the hospital. Deputies arrested and charged 34-year-old Alexander Bradley Smart with murder. (WSB-TV)
- Bartow County deputies arrested and charged a 44-year-old Cartersville man with aggravated assault. The man allegedly threatened to open fire in a grocery store parking lot on Jun. 18. (Subscription: Daily Tribune News)
